Thin Lizzy
When I was sixteen I took my kid Brother to see Thin Lizzy at the Demontfort Hall in Leicester. Michael is now sixteen and last night at the "Demont" he got to see this

Tired? Oh yeah, me too
First day back at work this year. I couldn't get to sleep last night, it was past 00:30.
At 04:00 I awoke with a start, thinking I had slept through my 5:25 alarm I sat bolt upright in bed. Welcome to the wide awake club.
Magic has been delivered into the safe hands of the vet, it's time to have her 'bits' removed before she can be released into the wilds of North East Leicestershire.

New year New car
Well, hardly new but only 13k on the clock of a 51 plate Fiesta. Bog standard, 3 door, wind up windows but a whole lot easier than trying to get that darn Corsa's electrics working properly. Technician coming on Friday.
The Fiesta is sitting on our drive anyway, it was her dads, along with his VW motorhome, both for sale.
So from an all singing all dancing front fogs, air-con, 8 speaker stereo etc Vauxhall called Red that Jac describes as quite trendy coz' she likes the look and the colour, to a standard looking, non-metallic red 'decorators workhorse' petrol powered Ford.
The number plate on Red giving away the reason she's called Red? Well the reg starts VK (as in the Vodka drink VKred) and she ain't red!
Talking of her Dad
Wayne, my Nephew, turned up at her Dads today. I met him there shortly after 08:30am, after dropping Jac off at work and taking the Eclipse photos (see another post of today). The windows Wayne will be fitting drove past a couple of times until eventually being flagged down by myself.
I helped Wayne and his mate offload them and took delivery of the extra on the order for our kitchen at home. Thats sat outside at the moment waiting for the Bathroom repair to be completed, glass is inside of course as sealed-units don't like thier edges exposed to sunlight too much, The UV rays break down the sealant given enough exposure.
I haven't touched the bathroom today. Jac hasn't said as much but I can tell she is not amused and patience will run short on this if the shower is not reinstated pronto! I love her and she has every right to be annoyed but she is (trying) not showing it.

New Year, New Eclipse, Snow-blind
Jan 4th opened with a partial eclipse of the sun.
It was one degree above zero, a breeze containing knives of cold stabbing at my fingers and there I am stood on a high point in Leicestershire. The tops of high buildings and those on higher ground in Melton Mowbray visible behind me, a view to the North-East across the North end of Leicestershire visible to anyone brave or daft enough to look headlong into it, carrying the blades of ice from over my right shoulder.
Ahead of me the last valley of Leicestershire and the first hill of Rutland The sun lighting the clouds above this hill with purples and pinks ahead of it's arrival to the county. As it's appearance draws closer the hues of a summers sunset take precedence in the sky, and then there it is, just a tip of the sun on the horizon, rising quickly and lighting up the day as it moves up and right across the line of trees on the ridge in front of me.
A breathtaking sight, or is that the wind removing air from my lungs? It really was a sight to see, if a little difficult to expose for.
I have to admit though, as I drove away afterwards, the cars heading towards me had pink headlights but, thankfully, as I was expecting some reaction, I had only used one eye in the camera viewfinder. So my left eye could still see quite clearly with the snow-blinded right being able to offer some definition for proximity sensing.
