Here are a couple of shots taken Yesterday at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire.
The obligatory one of Old John or as my wife knows it 'The Cup' as it looks like a cup with a handle when viewed from the right sides.
Lady Jane Grey's house has a dry stone wall around it. What is left of the ruins themselves, being originally brick and timber build, are falling down too. This process being accelerated by folk climbing on the walls. What is it with humans and wanting to stand on the highest thing around, be it a mountain, a wall or even an upstairs room to look out of the window? View this pcture large to read the writing on the wall. I sound like I'm quoting Pink Floyd now :s
Almost back at the car park, somebody is waiting in the woods. Not sinister at all, I needed a pee and this is taken from just outside the toilet building on my exit.
There are some very old trees in Bradgate park. Many are also dead but not gone.
For a Tuesday in March it was surprisingly busy. It must be the lack of nice days we have recently been having, it feels as if it was since October last year!
Into the misty afternoon. You can see the foreground is bathed in sunlight, the background is still swathed in the mist that has hung around since dawn.
A man enjoying the view over the park towards Leicester. This is taken from the Leicester Tigers memorial in Bradgate Park. Leicester Tigers were originally an Army Corps, the rugby team plays it's home games about three miles away from where the Barracks once stood. The Barracks are now a young offenders institute, better known in Leicester as "The Borstul!". I hate the lazy accent of Lest'o (phonetics= pronounce the last letter as 'o' as you would in cough or off). Although the that statement may not be quite true as an accent. Anglo white is now a minority race in the area.
